Welcome to Sarasota
Myofascial Release

A Gateway to Health

A certified Expert level John F. Barnes myofascial release therapist, I believe we need to incorporate many different modalities into our prescribed and proactive self care. It could be an accident or injury that causes pain.

In our daily lives at work or play we can adopt physical dysfunction that manifests as fascial restrictions on sensitive structures within our bodies. These restrictions cause pain, dysfunction, compensation and ultimately  can cause

'dis-ease' and idiopathic ( unknown cause) of pain and dysfunction. Myofascial Release can work to undo this.

Fascia Tissue

Fascia is all connective tissue. It connects every cell of your body to all the surrounding cells. A layer of fascia wraps around every structure in your body (every bone, every muscle, every organ, every blood vessel and nerve.) Fascia is what anchors itself to the neighboring structures Fascia forms a continuous three-dimensional web throughout the entire body, that gives the body its structural integrity, allows for movement and in a healthy state, is fluid.

In healthy tissue, the fascia is constantly in motion, rearranging itself as needed to allow body structures to slip and slide against each other. When fascial restrictions form, that motion gets arrested, and those structures that should slide against each other freely instead get stuck together. If you’ve ever felt a tight muscle or limited motion, that’s a a fascial restriction, an adhesion between separate layers of fascia that have temporarily become fused. This is unhealthy and causes further

dis-ease and restrictions within the fascial web that surrounds all your physical matter.

Our goal is to help you return to a pain free, active lifestyle!
